As a creative woman I’ve known Pinterest like, forever! Turns out, men and Gen Z are getting hip to it this year! This massive increase in users has made Pinterest grow from being just a social networking site to a search engine! Pinterest is a very powerful way to increase your sales, grow your reach, and drive more traffic to your website. I’ll show you how you can put your business on the map and drive traffic to your website with a properly set up account, optimization, and rich pins.

Why Your Business Needs it’s Own PinterestAccount

First, your business needs a separate account from your personal Pinterest! Once you are recognized as a business on Pinterest, you will get to see and manage your analytics, view trends, and run ads on your pins. One of my favorite things to use in this section is the “Trends” tab. This allows you to see what users are searching for and you can add content that corresponds!

Optimizing Your Pinterest Profile

Next, Optimize your profile to introduce your business. It is key to make sure that you have connected your website to your pinterest account. This will allow you to manage your conversion rate on posts directly linking to your website. You also want to make sure, like with any other social platform, that you have a high quality profile photo, and a well written bio that introduces your brand.

Creating Boards on Pinterest as a Business Account

Create Boards Specific to your Business. This is very important. Make sure that you keep your personal pinterest boards and your business boards separate! You want to organize your content into these boards as you see fit. This will help the algorithm to push similar content to your readers as well. Remember this, people are more likely to give you a follow if you have boards or content relating to what hooked them.

Curating High Quality Content for Pinterest

Curate High Quality Content! Pinterest differs from every other social network this way. You are able to gain views on your own original content as well as content created by others that you share on your profile as well. Remember, this is a place to PIN your INTERESTS. On another note, Make sure that if you have the Chrome browser, you download the Pinterest extensions. Next time you are on a website that has images you can save it directly to your pinterest boards!

Creating Rich Pins!

Using Rich Pins requires some preplanning especially if you work within a team. I recommend creating your graphics or photos and putting them into your blog posts. This allows readers to save the photos while reading your post with the details pre-filled out to their Pinterest accounts. This also allows you to post them as well, driving traffic directly to the post! In addition to rich pins, you need to be optimizing your descriptions. Remember to properly describe your images with keywords that are commonly searched, users will find your content faster this way! This is super important to note, the life cycle of a pin is about 4 months so you want to think about the long term when analyzing your numbers later on.

Reviewing and Analyzing Your Analytics for the First Time

Lastly, review and analyze your analytics. After a month of being live as a business account you should have some numbers to review. In order to get the most out of your Pinterest you need to familiarize yourself with the “Analytics Overview” tab. Take some time to explore the analytics tab as there is a ton of information in there! Identify which pins are doing well, which pins are getting saved, and if they are converting to website views and sales. At this point, if you’re feeling lost. Reach out to me to set up an analytics review or a business development discovery call. Don’t miss out on making money online in 2024!

Given these points I hope that I brought some new information to you that can be implemented in your business!
